Good to see Roy and Ruths Fowler "Nightmare" made the journey from Essex to Old Warden Ok. They must be clocking up the miles now.

Wonderful - that Mann is fantastic. Just downing a cup of tea and I'm off!

Damn good show again, spent all day there today.

I went looking for a Burrell Gold Medal tractor, could I find one?

No :(

There was a small Burrell in the catalogue, no 145 but it didn't state GMT and I couldn't find it anyway.

Oh well, at least it was a good day out :)

EdwardianRob 15th September 2012 06:45 PM

Superb day out, lots of wonderful steam wagons as well as other engines - loved the 1913 McCurd (petrol) lorry, still owned by Tate & Lyle. Nice drive back, too - stuck behind a Stanley steam car from Old Warden to Cardington with steam lorries passing in the other direction, and then find half the Sentinels in Cardington!

145 gmt peter pan stood in the showman's line up all day

Identity ?

Engine photograhed in Front of main building, looks like a compound Clayton CJ 7207,is it one with the inside valve gear but the eccentrics are on the outside and it has a toggle arrangement in the Trunk guide?

EdwardianRob 16th September 2012 10:46 AM

It's a Ruston and Hornsby according to the guide. These are the details, can supply the blurb too if of interest;

Ruston & Hornsby Type SC Traction Engine - Sadie, 7 NHP, built 1924, Works No 122300, Reg. No. CJ 7207

Hi Dave, you should have come and said hello, was there with the Fowler since Thursday, checked some sizes on the stearing gear on the GMT 'Peter Pan'

Well I wouldn't say tucked away. She sat with the rest of the showmans. Haha

Great show
