Do we know who will turn up? Always a great day out and usually the sun shines.

Clive Hearsey 15th September 2012 08:25 AM

Clive

Scenic 15th September 2012 08:59 AM

I'll be there, all being well

contractor 15th September 2012 09:14 AM

Clive
Spoke to the landlady at The Leigh arms and she is more than happy to have the Appalachian Dancers, so they will do 2 x 20 minute spots on sunday, think you will enjoy.

buzzy bee 15th September 2012 10:54 AM

I hope to be there, not with the Robey, but with something....

Thomas Green 16th September 2012 09:17 PM

Think we might trundle over with roller....

Engine John 17th September 2012 04:25 PM

We are planning to be there. Probably road over Saturday.

Flashback 17th September 2012 08:18 PM

sounds good will be there, not too sure yet if we are taking one or both engines.

staffordshirechina 18th September 2012 07:21 AM

We hope to be there Sunday at least.

Flashback 28th September 2012 03:36 PM

Seems quiet on the Leigh Arms front, anyone else going? Last year was a great weekend, the weather was warm and the beer cold and the company... okay was good also well worth a visit; this year looks the same.

Clive Hearsey 2nd October 2012 11:37 AM

Has anyone booked good weather for the wekend? we have use of the field opposite the pub for parking and camping, those planning on coming by narrow boat should contact British Waterways to check on the canal, as it burst it's banks near Little Leigh and at Middlewich.

Clive

Is the field grass or stubble or mud?? ;)

Thanks

Tony

buzzy bee 2nd October 2012 01:53 PM

Hoping to be there, :-)

davidje 2nd October 2012 03:34 PM

Back from North Wales tomorrow. Have to start baking as I have expectations to fulfil. Hope to attend both days.

Flashback 3rd October 2012 06:16 AM

Now I know Dave is baking I will also be there both days and yes Dave expectations are high. :) Look forward to seeing you

mrss 3rd October 2012 12:20 PM

we are there already

Clive Hearsey 3rd October 2012 10:44 PM

I believe the field is stubble as it was cut recently, it might be a bit sticky as we have rain forcast for Friday.

Engine roaded over today to within a stones throw of the Leigh Arms. Did about 16 miles on my own so quite pleased with that although I'm not sure if my back agrees! A pot hole/ burst water main provided the perfect place to take on water!

Spent this morning with a tame mechanic going over the buggy's transport; all OK.
Loaded the buggy into it for the first time this afternoon. It's a tight fit but it went in with a little air out of the tyres.
At the Leigh Arms Saturday and Sunday.
Weather forecast is good so looking forward to it.:D

Johnathan, What a conundrum - The caption on the thumbnail is 'Foden C Type', the truck has Leyland and Daf and Foden badges and livery. Change the caption to 'PACCAR Europe' and there you will have it.

See you at the weekend for an explanation. ;)

Sams Boy 5th October 2012 01:40 PM

You bought that truck off a bloke who has/had a half sized waggon - I used to work for him in Heversham!

davidje 5th October 2012 03:08 PM

Baking done . . . . Four 1lb fruit loaves, four dozen 'Old Fashioned' ginger biscuits and three dozen 'Rocky Road' cakes.

Will that be enough Tony?

Broken Firebar 5th October 2012 03:23 PM

Yes David thanks.

That will be fine for me!!!

Scenic 7th October 2012 07:34 PM

A brilliant weekend with sunshine, good company, playing with steam engines and eating some of davidje's cakes.
Thanks to Clive, Geoff and the staff at the Leigh Arms for making it all happen.
