I highly doubt that. In fact I wouldn't even call it the best rally thats on that weekend. I much prefer the relaxed atmosphere at Cromford. And South Cerney is also meant to be an excellent rally that gets a lot more steam than Pickering.

Pickering isn't all its made out to be. When it comes to big rallies, give me Lincoln & Welland any day, both are much better rallies, with a much better layout & site and none of the trouble that Pickering gets. They both also has the advantage of been run by a small club to raise money for chairty, as opposed to somebody out to make themselves some money.

But will it be remembered for the right reasons?
So of us have bad memories of not too long ago. Lots of exhibits that have not been seen at Pickering before perhaps, but then again the are lots of exhibits that will not be going this year..........

Unlikely to be the best rally of the year, unless you are only going to it and no others.

BLACKTOP 19th July 2012 02:36 PM

Steamhead21 25th July 2012 11:52 AM

Pickering 2012.

their are no details on web site about that is on at Pickering this year.
I went every year for at least 10 years with caravan all ways had a good time.
Never had any trouble always thought it was good value for money.
Did not have the time or cash to travel further from Durham.

fosterman 25th July 2012 06:01 PM

There is a music festival on this weekend on the site (the summer of Love Festival) this could explain why they arent letting people on site till Wednesday due to preparing the site???

May have a ride over on the monday with the family

lampwortroy 28th July 2012 10:18 PM

Wish it didn't clash with The Gloucester Extravaganza where we will be. Pickering is so close to home it is a pity to miss it. Hope my old pal Simon Boak is still involved.
