Lovely engines, lovely settings - great photos. Wish I was there!

I was there. It was amazing how most engines managed to get up the hill on their own yet the Burrells needed at least 2 and sometimes 3 tied together to stand any chance of getting up the hill. Even then they struggled, huffing and puffing and snorting their way around the site.

Looks like everyone was having a good weekend blue sky and steam. A rare occurance this year. Heard on countryfile last night weather just mike take a turn for the better heres hopeing

Would love to go back again to this do. We used to go in the 80's . Loved the ambience of the setting, there's some photo's of those days in my 'picture albums'

There was also present the recreation of Trevithick's 'Catch Me Who Can' for you train spotters out there.
Apparently they weren't keen on the suggestion they should run it on the tram tracks! Must be a bug***r to start from dead centre. |

Looks a great time had by all, gutted i didn't realise it was on I was up in Wolverhampton on Saturday and would of popped in for a couple of hours.
