Hollowell.
First time i have been to this Rally and considering there was no engine movement due to the state of the ground i think the organisers put on an excellent show , well done.
For those who had their engines on their transporters ,you could have taken the tarp's off so the public could have seen them. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v2...t=IMG_9367.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...K/IMG_9371.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...K/IMG_9378.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...K/IMG_9381.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...K/IMG_9383.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...K/IMG_9385.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...K/IMG_9387.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...K/IMG_9392.jpg |
Wow Dorothy on a low loader - that is not a very frequent happening these days.
Certainly looks very wet there. |

That is what i was thinking! :0 Clocks up more miles on the road than near enough any engine! |
And think of all that coal that has been saved!

It belongs to Will Dakin from Cheshire.

Interesting load securing on the 2nd picture. I should want to see a bit more than that if it were my engine sat on there.

I enjoyed the rally today, despite the conditions. It was a pleasure to meet Paxman Man for the first time (and Avis of course) ably assisted by a certain web-master actually getting his hands dirty! :D
Any offers of captions for this one? . . . http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/278_0209.jpg |
What make is that last engine?

It's a Fowler BAA single.
Owned by Richard Vernon I believe. I also think it was originally exported to either Australia or South Africa, can't remember which. |
Its got Australia cast into the smokebox door plates. Really interesting engine enjoyed looking at it over the weekend while paddling.

Just lets baste it a bit more!
Neil , thats a blinding trailer you've got there,King? Did it come with the curtains or did you customise it? |

This is our second season with the trailer, I have to admit it works well for our needs, easy to load for the roller and our old Aveling although looking at it in the garden all year round may not be my first choice. Came as a standard trailer for forklift truck movement, hence the sliding roof, although this has been replaced with a new one, and we have done the usual shot blasting, painting and repairs to get it up to spec. Certainly a good idea in the wet !!! |
Thats what I was thinking, no worries about road s@@t all over going down the road in this weather we've been having!
