The Horseshoe Willaston

We were planned to go to the 1000 engine rally today but when we woke up to see the back garden under water, we gave it a miss. We went instead to the 'Car Show' gathering at the Horseshoe in Willaston. A few engines turned up and it was one of those days where you could walk around the engines and talk to people, enjoy the growing sunshine and relax for a few hours.

Had a great weekend with good company and not a jot of mud in sight!

Superb hospitality from the Horseshoe Landlord and staff and yet again from Sams Boy and family.

A smashing do.

Tony, how long did it take to get there , & to the Pie throwing do on your new engine!
As I said somewhere else , I like those tyres Nich put on that engine , look like original strakes with the grip & comfort of rubber.

Sams Boy 26th June 2012 08:49 AM

It's onnly a mile and a half so no time at all - BF kindly let me have a play on Sunday - it does go well

Steaming North 26th June 2012 10:43 AM

Even after you broke it?

Couldn't be there on the Sunday, but had a lovely run out on the Saturday on Mr Boesing's roller with Vicky and the dog to the 33rd Annual World Worm Charming Championships, then back to the pub for a smashing meal and beers with friends. Shaun, the landlord was a brilliant host.

Thanks to Mark and George again (and Heather for the bacon butties and a shower)!
