Lotherton Hall - what date?
Does anyone know what date Lotherton Hall rally is being held? There's not much publicity and the only info I have seen is contradicting - some say May 5/6/7, some say June 2/3/4! Can anyone confirm, just so I know what to plan like? It's only up the road from me!

No idea Paul, but if anyone goes, do go and have a look at the John Fowler silver table centrepiece on display in the house.
|
just had a look my entry form says 5th 6th 7th of may
|
Thanks Edwin, let's hope it dries out before then, only a week away!

Will have a drive up the road and see if there are any signs and maybe ask someone at the hall. Watch this space. |
Well, no signs so contacted Lotherton Hall, who say they haven't heard anything about a steam rally and there is nothing listed in any of the months in the 'What's on' section of the website!
So someone is mis-informed somewhere!?! |
Just phoned this number 08432 897931 & was told event had been moved from May to June due to ground conditions. Number & date from this site:

i was all set to go and only at last minute found out it had changed.
|
So, who going? Just me?:D
|
looks like it Paul.
Chris. |
might call over after work tomorrow evening, see who`s about.

Called in at about 3.30 yesterday afternoon to see who was there, only to find the first engine driving onto the field - Fowler Plougher 14375, lovely engine! As I drove back out, the Ragsdale's Burrell Showmans, Princess of Wales was just arriving on low-loader.
I know Jamie was en-route with the DG6, but I was expecting more engines by that time! Just hope there's more today, when I go back to the rally, but nevermind if not, I'm just looking forward to seeing any amount engines for the first time this year!! |
see you got stuck with the waggon Paul.
Chris. |
Yeah there's a soft patch near the entrance/exit to the ring and the DG6 being very heavy at the front, just sank about 6"! Fowler Plougher made light work of shifting it though!
Also, at 6'4" and 16 st, I now know I'm too heavy to drive a 4" Burrell without a trolley!:D unless I want to show off doing wheelies!! |
thats why its known as the Mole, and according to Nigel Binks, its the Masham Mole when in North Yorkshire.
