Help! Weymouth & portland steam show
The Portland steam & vintage show changed venues this year, it now being in Chickerell, near Weymouth as opposed to its home for the last 12 years, on the Isle Of Portland. The Organiser of the show for the last 10 years, retired after this years show, saddling me with trying to organise the 2012 show. Things so fair are going quite well, but due to the fact the show clashes with the much bigger and well established Langport Rally, we are going to struggle to fill are steam section. Are there anyone out there with engines/minature engines who may be willing to come down to Chickerell on 14 & 15 July 2012. We are quite a small event and usually have between 10 to 15 full size engines and about 20 - 30 minatures. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in anticipation
ps What a good idea this site is!! |
The engine I crew on has just moved to nr Dorchester, and I am heading down on thursday to do some work on her, We are intrested in bringing her to a few rallys down that way next year! PM some contact details and will go from there! Its Allchin 669 "Bess". Here is a photo of her!

Had a site visit to show ground tonight, fields are nice and dry, very lucky as they also drain very well. We start setting up in 2 weeks pretty sure weather will be okay, still have spaces left in all sections. Good mixture of exhibits, have 4 saw benches, (1 rack saw, 1 horizontal and 2 table ) New to the show this year will be the vintage road making equipment display, we are pleased to announce that chase bars will be supplying the all important beer tent, where live music will be going on through the 2 days.
