What a great weekend, by far the best show at Torbay.
My thanks to all the steam owners and crew, and to Tony Brooks ( show manager ) and his small band of helpers. Steve. |

Cracking rally. Sunshine, playpen with a sea view, threshing, woodsawing, steam ploughing, crème de la crème of showmans engines, new engines to me, Art's cider shack, the full set. Shame I missed the road run on Friday, everybody said it was quite a sight.
A lot my pics are similar to the ones posted above but here a couple more I can add: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1239.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1052.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1118.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1620.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1824.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1980.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_2047.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_2116.jpg The chap driving Gladiator in these pictures was one of the original members of the Gladiator club, and is now in his 90's. He was one of the gang who went to collect the engines from Whitelegg's in the early 1950's and drove her back to preservation in Redruth. http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1273.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/11...y/DSC_1293.jpg thumbsup |
Looks to be an absolutely belting show with some cracking engines (the little Gold Medal tractor from Sandy Bay is just superb!)
Good to see Gladiator and King of the Belgians back together in Whiteleggs livery too. A big well done to the organisers and commitee etc for putting on such a great show. I will be there for definate next year. Jim S |
