Masham 2011

What a great weekend. A few teething problems with the new site which hopefully will be sorted for next year. The weather could have been better, but it could also have been much worse.
Well done Flo Grainger and the team.

Tar-Pot 17th July 2011 08:50 PM

Yes I'll second that. An excellent weekend. I think the site has a lot of potential and it must rank as one of the most picturesque. I dont think we would have been able to move the engines if we were still on the old field.
I know that the teething problems have been looked at and taken on board. I think the weather around and about must have put a lot of visitors off, its poured down most of the day just down the road here at Northallerton with thunder and lightning as well. So perhaps we got off lightly? well done Flo and co.

Pandora's Firebox 17th July 2011 09:24 PM

Annoyed that I missed it for the first time in years!! Couldn't make it yesterday and thought today might have been a wash out!! Looking forward to seeing some pics.

Cygnus X-1 18th July 2011 05:58 PM

I too was put off by the weather :(
Judging by what I've been reading I made a big mistake in not going on either day *cry
More than anything I was keen to see the new site and it's lay out potential .
Bloody weather , I need to listen less to TV weather people .
Looking forward to seeing some photo's though.

Thanks Chris. Was that the next generation of sentinel/Burrell drivers with you?

Timothy Hackworth Jr 18th July 2011 08:39 PM

Engines in the arena when we thought we'd drown on Saturday lunchtime. Would never have got them all in or out on the Low Burton site.

Yes as has been said previously, in the old field we would have been sinking quite badly after that amount of rain.

That's why Ian has nicknamed the DG6 "The Masham Mole" from previous, 'softer' years at Low Burton, where it dug in and made holes everywhere!!:D

Cracking pictures, thanks for posting! I'm even more miffed that I missed it now! It really does look a fantastic field and setting. I'll be there next year rain or shine!!!

buggeroff 20th July 2011 07:09 PM

Mr Binks named it that Paul after he got stuck trying to get out of field in full lock and it just went down, its now just known as The Mole.

Chris.

Ah I'm going back a couple of years since he told me, so probably forgot where it came from, getting old you see?!
He could do with fitting 'caterpillar' tracks around his double drive bogey, then it'd be more like 'The 'Frog' (or summat!!) *think;)
