Interesting patch on a patch on the roll head of the Aveling D-type roller:

Has the little Mc Laren changed hands??, it used to live in Scotland. It seems to have aquired belly tanks as well, which I don't think used to be fitted - I might be wrong on that one though.

We went early today to miss the rain. These are the minatures that were up and about at that time.

The patch on the headstock was done many years ago after the engine had been in a accident

For those who have it there is a photograph of the accident on page 42 of John Crawleys "Steam Rollers in Focus"

Its worth noting that John Staton drove that Aveling roller all the way from Klondyke a distance of i think 50 miles, in under 9 hours.

Fair play to him.

Does that mean he now has two Macs - Big Mac & Little Mac??

Two Macs, yes, a big one and a little one but not THE "Little Mac".. which is of course Mr Dale's lovely Burrell SCC...
