Three pics from this morning dodging the rain drops in North Yorkshire. Superb venue, 8 engines in steam including 2 electric light engines and many many nice people to chat to, including a goodly number of TT-ers. Cracking and unexpected buffet too!

Still not fit to be outdoors especially in current weather. Sorry to miss it all. Super photos despite weather.

It was just a shame about the weather. Very good day though.

My first ever successful attempt at posting pictures. I had to follow a link on the help needed by oap thread though. Which about sums it up I guess!

Lancashire Lad 24th November 2010 06:29 PM

I think it is an Orton and Spooner front that was originally on Crows swanee river ride. I think thats what it was called anyway. I have a picture of it in a book somewhere. I think the ride was then aquired by Nobles and the front painted over with their name. Richard Preston bought it at the Fred Coupland auction. I think it looks fantastic the way it is positioned and lit.

Richards wife Anne was the one who bought it at Couplands sale she is rightly proud of this fact-- she took a liking to it and was the successful bidder, not knowing quite what would be done with it--they certainly found a good place.
