The poster I saw at the weekend announcing this said "Partnerships don't work" on the bottom...

Maybe ! I've also been told that the high cost of Security and the H & S Requirements are making events too expensive !.

Why not ring them up and ask if you're interested?

Good point - but it's worth clarifying here. Not all the answers are on TT, but an answer to every question is on TT!

I suppose if someone has a gripe with an event organiser it would be quite easy to run around with event cancelled stickers? It is rumoured that Bob Geldoff did this for U2 gigs to boost attendance at Boomtown Rat sessions.

the transport show was organised by the same people who ran the leicestershire county show...and they went tits up last year! the only reason there was a steam and vintage show on melton airfield, is because they had paid for a 5 year contract with david wilson homes who own the lad. and that runs out sometime this year. and the show on the airfield was an indipendant organisation

i think thats about right

Yes indeed it is - similar tactics have been deployed in this neck of the woods in the past and in one case a few mindless locals nearly bankrupted an organiser - not a steam event - and finished off what could have been a very good show.
