E-bay can be a great place to look and find bargins in OO gauge.

Also, if you're not already using DCC, this is well worth a look into as there are many advantages - not leastly, original sound timed to the motion - brilliant!!

Best of luck

Mike

For their size the ' Schools ' were about the best 4-4-0 in the world , but an NER ' R ' looked better and rode better .

Just over an hour ago, 30926 Repton steamed past our lounge window. Very atmospheric in the dusk and brought back some happy memories of thousands of miles driving and firing it. Not nearly as light on her feet as many would have you believe, but more experience needed than for many other classes. She does like to sharpen her claws if you'll let her!

I bet it was cold for the crew in that open cab today - with the low tender and relatively short cab sides and roof, I can almost feel that cold Whitby wind wipping across the footplate??!!

Interestingly however, when Ivatt designed longer and more sheltered cabs for Stirling's Singles, the crews initially rejected them on the grounds that they were for 'softies,' such was their pride in the original design and their loyalty to Stirling!!

Can't say I'd necessarily agree - being a bit nesh myself!!
