Thats 4 rallies in a row we have had cancelled now. Heres hoping that Driffield and Lincoln buck the trend.

Damn & blast it! I had heard that the grass hadn't been cut yet due to the wet weather. That only gave a week to cut and bale prior to setting up week.

ianmorris1960 23rd July 2012 02:27 PM

bugger - was really looking forward to that

Marshall Rally at Gainsborough is still on that weekend, certainly choose that over Pickering

Realy sorry to hear about Cromford, but yes please come and see us at Gainsborough, mainly a tractor event ( 60 years of Field Marshall 3a) about 1/2 dozen steamers and all the usual rally stuff ploughing, threshing ect. All proceeds go to the recently opened Gainsborough Heritage Centre home of a good number of Marshall records. Hope to see some of you there.

Thanks Paul

I am gutted by this cancellation, as Cromford was going to be a "staging post" on my way to the Lincoln Rally two or three weeks later. This makes the trip to Lincoln a three-day journey instead of the one, then rally, then two days trip planned.

If anyone wants an Aveling GP engine at their event somewhere in the Chesterfield/Matlock area on what would have been Cromford weekend, please let me know!

chairoplanes 24th July 2012 07:57 AM

you can always go to the number 1 rally in the north pickering not much chance of getting stuck there are roads around the rally field

chief polisher 24th July 2012 08:16 AM

Where the engines park near the ring there isn't.

Regards

Matt

Chairoplanes,

I don't think roading 100 miles to Pickering, then another 80 to get to Lincoln is a very practical proposition, when Lincoln is only 70-odd miles away directly!

Pickering is far from the number 1 rally in the north. Its just a poorly organized mess. Id rather have a weekend at home than go to Pickering.

steamy windows 25th July 2012 10:14 PM
