An introduction to the event…

Ashley Hall plays host for the 3rd year running to another of our extremely successful steam spectaculars! This ideal venue, near Altrincham, provides all you need for a weekend packed with family entertainment with easy road access from the M56 and M6 motorways.

Performing in the main arena will be the On The Edge Stunt Show, an amazing motorcycle trials stunt display team. Team members have multiple British, European and World Championship titles between them. They are the only team doing backflips on a trials bike.

Performing over the three days live on stage will be the Crazy Bears. Come and join Smarty, Rocky, Candy, Honey, Popsy, Sweet Tooth and Mr Keiron for a fun-packed extravaganza for the whole family. These six bears will entertain you with singing, dancing and magic tricks at various times over the full 3 days of the event including meet & greet sessions in-between their performances.

There will be a full programme of top steam fair attractions, including Steam Engines, Classic Cars, Vintage Tractors, Classic Motorcycles, Fairground Organs. Miniature Steam Engines, Stationary Engines and Vintage Commercials.

The event will also include: Trade Stands, Autojumble, a Craft and Fine Food Marquee, both Old Time and Modern Funfairs, Non-stop Arena Entertainment, Catering Outlets & Licensed Bar.

David,
It would be helpful if you could post a list of Exhibits that are likely going to be interesting to me and I am sure many others that have not attended before, the likely Steam numbers and approx Commercials and Tractors.

There is usually 30+ steam engines, possibly more. Nice location for a rally on the grounds of Ashley hall, about 15 miles run to Alderley edge which is always good fun on the sunday night.

We will hopefully be taking 4 this year, Foden D-Type and Foden Agri-tractor, Burrell GMT and Aveling Roller.

That will be very handy as this is on the same weekend at Chipping steam fair which is my local one but last year there was only a hand full of traction engines and this looks to have more so I'm more inclined to go to this one this year instead.

Nice selection Adrian, I had great fun last year.

I reckon that it means you'll get more questions than anyone else, from inquisitive people who can't understand why it's in the steam section!

It's going to be a great weekend, I can sense an Astle Park Friday type of vibe already.

contractor 25th May 2017 07:54 PM

Well said Adrian, the leafy lanes of Cheshire will no doubt be abound tomorrow, with engines making their way to Ashley Hall well impressed with your line up, good man

8_10 Brass Cleaner 25th May 2017 08:00 PM

Is it German?

Is it Dutch?

Is it made from bits?

It sounds like a diesel engine.

Did it always have tractor tyres?
