Little Casterton Working Event

Popped over Sunday for the first time, lots of rare and unusual tractors hard at work along with some steam. A nice treat was the Lancaster flying over the ploughers on Sunday afternoon, apparently the Hurricane and Spitfire followed afterwards.

Usually clashes with your event Mark. Always a good display though, used to do Old Warden and here in one trip before we started to exhibit at Old Warden. Arthur Hinch has been collecting steam and tractors for a long time now.... Ransomes and Caterpillar being his favourites I think..

Classic shot of the Lancaster flying over the plougher, you don't see that everyday!:)

Shame I was at the other end of the field and it was out of focus!

The later Rustons and Ransomes portables were very very similar, and even used the same sales literature, and just changed the name written on the engines - sometimes. I've seen a Ransomes sales brochure, but the engine in the picture says Ruston on the barrel...

Nice looking 5(?)nhp Ruston in your pictures Mark, don't think I've seen it before...
