Medway Steam
Not sure this year's event was one of the best, exhibits where, I think, some what down on previous events
But would like some help with this engine, please http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/h...10_034copy.jpg Regards Graham |
Fancy not recognising poor old 'Canterbury'! A & P AD type roller built 1930, number 14039, reg JG999
Presently undergoing a very thourough restoration involving enormous quantities of paint over large areas of new metal! You can't hurry perfection! (especially when you have a Foden to play with) |
Has anyone got anymore photos of the event ?

Personally I think Dave should have got a bit more rubber put on his back rolls as they look a bit out of proportion.
When pushed for a completion date he said in time for his 30th in 18 months time. Hairy Monster and myself suggested the engine's 100th in 2030 might be more realistic:D |

On Monday after the final steam parade these 3 Aveling & Porter Rollers built in 1930 were posed with their owners. They all live at the Dockyard but due to rebuilds it has taken us 10 years to set this up! All are compounds. Type AB 'Rhoda' 14044 (DW7088) 6 ton, Type AD 'Canterbury' 14039 (JG999) 8 ton, Type AF 14072 (DV7077) 12 ton. Mike |
