Who was Fred Carbo, and why was his circus any different to any other?
Happy 2021 to all.
Cheers.
Charlie.

Fred Karno had a brother Mic Karno who invented a model construction system.

Mic Karno sets were on every young man's Xmas list.

Hi Charlie, it was a railway mans term at Plymouth Laira Depot for anything that was a complete shambles and should read " it is like Fred Carno's Circus". Don't ask me who Fred Carno was as I don't know. |The comment was usually addressed to the singularly inept traincrew management that existed at Laira between 1979 to 1986.

I know Mic very well as I have two large boxes of his products under my desk!

I've was lead to believe that Fred Carno's army was infact set up as a circus that went to America from England, Mr.Carno took with him Charlie Chaplin and Stan Lorral. I may be wrong and stand to be corrected, but thats what I was lead to believe.
