Isn't it Phil Wings old engine? I thought she was restored some time ago or has she just had boiler work etc done?

Jim, it used to be owned by Steve Wing, it then passed to Preston Services, and then moved to Aberdeenshire. James

Just a word of warning for anyone staying overnight in a caravan or worse still a tent, it can be bloody freezing! So bring plenty of extra bedding etc. and make sure your gas bottle has some gas in it, you wouldn’t be the first to turn up with an empty bottle!

Can I second the above post.
I used to attend Pickering every year with caravan was cold even in July/Summer.
I made the mistake of not checking the electrics in caravan once and arrived to find lights water pump not working had to buy a
torch on showfeild.
Worth checking generator as well if you are taking one .
I used caravan oven for heat .
If you arrive for weekend at Beamish and need grub etc Chester-le-Street & Stanley are both very close by.
Stanley has a 24 hour asda.

The area does tend to have its own little micro climate. Looks like it's getting cold this weekend. Look at the overnight 'Feels' like temperatures particularly Saturday night / early Sunday morning (-13C) so wrap those engines up well!

I've never been to Beamish, & it seems to have come on a lot in recent years. This looks like a good do, reminds me of when we used to go to the Black Country Museum in the 80s , or is it better than that? I loved the atmosphere at the BCM , especially in the pub!

They are much of a muchness- just different flavours.
I love both.
Beamish allow dogs in which helps.

David, I don't know where you had this from but it's a lot more pessimistic than the Met Office.
