To confirm on behalf of Lady Judy

"Definitely only open to the public on 17/18th - Saturday and Sunday. Bar etc open Friday evening for those who are on site and our volunteers are talking of running a few trains for the traction boys"

She apologies for any confusion of a 3 day show

We're arriving Thursday too.

I phoned a week or two ago to check if this would be OK and the nice lady in the office, Dilys?, said it would be fine.

Looks like Friday night might be party night!

:D

When I was a kid I was friendly with a bloke who owned a Fowell, Gordon Wells, is he still around? He told me that best part of steam events is when the public have gone home. (Or perhaps in Fawley's case arrived)
How true he was.

BTW, and off topic. My tutor at university was called Fowell. On our first meeting I said "Oh, as in the traction engines". "No" he replied "that's Fowler."
Not really tactful to correct someone about their surname having just met, is it!

Maybe I'm wrong, but surely:
No public means no appearance money.
No public means no free coal.
No public means no rally.

Stef.

I last saw Gordon about 2-3 years ago when I went with Paul Jarman from Beamish to go and look at his loco in Cambridgeshire, others on here will know him better.
