Charlie, I havnt been right up to the tower as it was behind a fence, but I see a large oak tree was blown over , so is the tower 'dry walled', or cemented? If the former it must have been well done to last all this time!

Charlie, another question - isn't one of the other follies in the park called 'Jack the Treacle Eater'?

The four follies are said to have been built to mark the four compass points at the limits of the park....... Messiter's Cone is also known as the Rose Tower.
