David and I travelled down to Preston Services on Sunday. It has become a highlight of the Christmas holidaysmeeting so many like minded people in such a great enviroment. Michael has a superb collection of all things steam and it is a pleasure on his open days to be allowed to look around and explore.
his oast house with his stationary engines, this year was extremely interesting as it was out of the cold, bitter wind. |

Adam, did you give the Wallis roller a good look-see? I thought it was rather lovely! |
Not seen the Paxman before, where did that come from ?

Paxman
Really spooky! I only recentley came across this forum. When I introduced myself I mentioned this engines sister Paxman KE 2701. I would love to know where she is now. I was aware of her stable mate KE 2700 but these are the first pictures I have seen. Fantastic takes me back a long way. Hopefully some of you guys could fill me in on some history

I'm amazed to see the little Wallis Oil Bath 'The Viper' still there. I went up to buy that two years ago and then changed my mind at the last minute and bought Iron Ada instead! I thought it would have gone by now.
