Thanks just found it in The Development of The English Traction Engine

This was one of the engines described by Bill Hughes in that classic ' Traction Engines Worth Modelling ' . Drawings might have been available from Percival Marshall and their successors .

The reason I asked was that the Devonshire pictured has the correct style valve for operating the blower and I would like one of those for the blower and water lifter rather than the globe valves I have currently. President and The Dalesman are good examples of full size engines still fitted with them. I did wonder if it was Lincoln Steam but I notice this is not in their parts list. This is why I asked if this specific engine was built by them or a private individual. I anybody knows of a source of somilar valves I would be interested.

Hi Engine John

Nice to have met up with you at the Littlew Leigh Steam party, I also have an interest in the 6" Devonshire and the link will take you to the company who supplies castings and drawings.

Picture 12 is of the Fowler Fen Engine, it looks very familiar, can you please tell if the name of the engine was "Fen Spud" , if so I know who built the engine and spent a couple of seasons rallying it for him.

If anybody is interested I spoke to Dave at Lincoln Steam today. He is very keen to help. He does produce the plug cocks to the Burrell pattern that I am after so I will be placing an order with him.

Thanks to those who pinted me in his direction.

Picture 12, Fowler Fen Type engine.
Is this a 3" scale version??
I have recently p/x a set of castings, boiler and drawings for one of these with Station Road Steam.
It was a Maurice Sedgwick design.
There are more of these about than you might think. A guy called Albert Sell from Chesterfield has/had one plus this one at the exhibition, also saw a 4" version of one at Old Warden, again built to the same design.

It looks like the one that Staton road steam sold a while ago, basically a model of Bob Lee's George. Its a super model.

If you look in the archive pages of Station Road Steam you will find the 4" version I think it was called "My Girl". It was an absolutely stunning model. I spoke to Station Road about it a while after they sold it and I was told it will probably never be steamed just polished periodically.

John

"My Girl" is the engine The Pirate would have seen at Old Warden
