Think I could get enough usable parts from this system if right diameter
Seen complete systems on interweb for around£80
But can't get any info as to tube dimensions

Just had email back from suppliers of the Morris minor exhaust system and their pipe is 35 mm bore
I've room in the manifold mounting flange to machine a suitable hole for this to fit into
There is enough pipe work to be able to make up,a functioningsystem ,with a little bit of modifying
Will the slightly larger pipe work cause any problems?
Looking at the manifold flange more closely it appears that the 32 mm pipe now in situ has been flared out before being welded in place
So perhaps 35 mm was the original size fitted ?

When I ran the Daimlers.

I seem to recall that I simply used what I could afford which was approximately the same size as whatever was on them, I never had any problems from doing that.
Incidentally, if you have an SU carburetor and it does not have the damper for the piston you can bore the piston ,make a damper to fit and get a bit more acceleration..
If the MPG does not matter to you you can also polish the needle which fits into the jet to get a few more horses, even a couple of thous off makes a difference,
I hope these vague hints and recollections help.
Regards David Powell.

The standard Morris 1000 exhaust system used to have a nice crisp fart on the overrun .

You have been warned !

Jamie is great as was Dave it its previous incarnation, especially if old man Dunford was there when you rang up. If they didnt know, you had no chance.

Result

Following a tip off from a neighbour I've solved the exhaust problem for the wasp
A local branch of a national company allowed me access to their obsolete / unidentifiable stock rack

The result was a brand new 35 mm " Bosal" silencer box and front pipe combined
And a brand new length of stainless 35 mm tube
Another search through junk pile revealed a perfect preformed 90 degree bend in a length of pipe
The result is a D I Y exhaust system which just needs putting together

The best bit ?
Total price including two brand new exhaust clamps ?
£20 :D
Have already roughed out the system and now have to fine tune and assemble on the car

Many thanks to everyone for their help and assistance
Cheers my
