I've room in the manifold mounting flange to machine a suitable hole for this to fit into There is enough pipe work to be able to make up,a functioningsystem ,with a little bit of modifying Will the slightly larger pipe work cause any problems? Looking at the manifold flange more closely it appears that the 32 mm pipe now in situ has been flared out before being welded in place So perhaps 35 mm was the original size fitted ? Cheers Martin |
When I ran the Daimlers.
I seem to recall that I simply used what I could afford which was approximately the same size as whatever was on them, I never had any problems from doing that.
Incidentally, if you have an SU carburetor and it does not have the damper for the piston you can bore the piston ,make a damper to fit and get a bit more acceleration.. If the MPG does not matter to you you can also polish the needle which fits into the jet to get a few more horses, even a couple of thous off makes a difference, I hope these vague hints and recollections help. Result
Following a tip off from a neighbour I've solved the exhaust problem for the wasp
A local branch of a national company allowed me access to their obsolete / unidentifiable stock rack The result was a brand new 35 mm " Bosal" silencer box and front pipe combined And a brand new length of stainless 35 mm tube Another search through junk pile revealed a perfect preformed 90 degree bend in a length of pipe The result is a D I Y exhaust system which just needs putting together The best bit ? Total price including two brand new exhaust clamps ? £20 :D Have already roughed out the system and now have to fine tune and assemble on the car Many thanks to everyone for their help and assistance Cheers my |
