I've got a seriously old mag drill, it works fine but it's heavy and being so old is fairly worn so if you're not careful you end up with oval shaped holes! Also the pure size of it means you need a decent sized flat surface to sit it on (my hot plates were anything but!). Go with a rota broach, so much more practical!
