The Compound Aveling Roller is a very handsome looking machine. Love the heavy haulage! Brilliant mix of engines.

I thought the fowler was unidentified, or did I imagine it! Where did it come back from?

I'll try not to bore you all by repeating the same pictures David and Robin have already posted, but here are a few of mine.
We were a little worried when Saturday dawned overcast and cold...and then it started to rain! http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0336.jpg But by the time we started roading into the town, it started to clear and brighten up. So much so the sun even came out by the time we got to town! http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0337.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0341.jpg I thought it would be a good idea to get a few pictures whilst it looked fairly quiet. This turned out to be a very good idea... http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0340.jpg ...as this picture doesn't do justice to just how packed the streets were with people! http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0346.jpg And it wasn't just about full-size. Miniatures took their place too: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0338.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0339.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0342.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0343.jpg Then it was time to road back to the car park. As were were a little quicker on the Garret, I had time to catch the rollers coming back: http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0345.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0344.jpg http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0347.jpg And then it was time for some to load up for home http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tti/12/290_0348.jpg |
Thanks for the kind comments, Prince Albert is a credit to Scott Yeo's work. Still a few jobs to do in the next couple of weeks. But mostly there. We had a good road run back to Stithians. Much less eventful than the trip across! For an engine that is very similar to my traction engine, it is quite different to drive and fire!
To the Trevithick Day organisers, a very well done. Excellant weekend all round. Weather was as good as we could have hoped for. Thanks for making us very welcome by all of the people that we were there with and talked to. Douglas |
Brilliant photos, thanks.
