Purely as a point of interest, which ploughed the field the best, Internal Combustion Tractor or Steam Ploughing Engines?

A couple of photos here for you to judge for yourself, although maybe your decision is best kept private. Personally I always prefer steam ploughing but that's because I prefer to watch steam engines. ;)

Hi Colin, thanks for the photos. My two grandchildren and myself had a debate on the way home as to which produced the best furrow. We both felt that the best result was by steam, however, there was quite a wide strip at either side of the field which could not be ploughed due to the presence of the engines.
Regards,
Tom.

The headland would have been ploughed directly.

Tom says thanks for the picture of his Major

On reflection maybe the two photos were not representative as the steam ploughed section had been cultivated in the photo shown.
If Tom would like the photo of his tractor, pm me his e-mail address and I'll send him one.

to be fair the cornish maid and sister wendy did a fairly good job of ploughing trying to get to there respected machines and line up ! probably not the best area to do this as its the paddock where the point to point horses do there parading !! never mind all sorted with the aid of new piece of kit from bamfords !
