Great pics! Shame that the weather spoilt the fun (or maybe added to it?!?:D).

Was this a successful rescue?

That setup was to connect the unit to the trailer. We were mid way through extracting another lowloader when a big tractor came, so we let him pull the lorry out.

We used "Tiger" for exactly the same, although some people need to teach their kids some bloody common sense!

Those tyres may not look attractive on engines, but when wet they do the job perfectly! Wonder how many were surprised at just how far they got before getting stuck? And even then, it was only about 10 ft from the road!

Welcome to TT Mr. Stokes, wondered how long it would be before you made an appearance.;) Thistledown looks just the job now with new awning and new/old number plates. Looking forward to roading her soon.

Thanks Kev, the camera was being very generous in that light, still a lot of cosmetic detail to put right but that will have to follow the mechanical!

Cheeseroller & I had a very good run there on the friday, 42 miles in 11 hours with three water stops to fill the tender and cart from 2cubes on my uncle's trailer. Rocket power was provided by Andy Holmes' Welsh steam coal! A few problems raised their head as would be expected on an engine that's not been on a long run since being dismantled - all of which was sorted at the roadside without a huge amount of delay.

Great images, fairly local but unfortunately couldn't make it - that Yorkshire steam wagon looks wonderful
