Well on the way to work on Thursday there was a Water board van and two artic tankers, filling from the hydrant, and what were they using? A Stand Pipe, I had a look and it was a 2.5" one, or what ever they are, and it had no check valves in it. Haha

Do they not need check valves?

Yes , maybe , but they say that we do need them , and we cannot argue .

I will get a picture next time, see them there quite a bit, hehe Also have a good friend on the water board.....
