Quite correct - but not in steam. This is only the second appearance in steam since the mid 80's, the first being at Lamport at the end of May.

allchin 2146 was in deed at Allchin reunion but not steam worthy - this is the first season in steam for 26 years

How many other Allchin's went to the reunion at Hunsbury Hill?

On the road run to Delapre I think there were makers numbers 1961 owned by Hentons, 1173 owned by David Maidment,a roller conversion owned by N Partridge , Avon street queen from Isle of wight- 1415, Evedon lad 1499 R. Poole, from Ireland engine number 1311 owned by F Jenkinson and Rebel owned by A. Eaton number 1546.Unfortunately 2146 was left behind as she was unsteamable but she was in the line up on the field .Not sure if any other Allchins also stayed on the field - there were other steam engines present but not Allchins. I dont remember the rollers but I think one was at the Hunsbury Railway museum around that time.

Maybe there will be another Allchin reunion one day, it would make a very good show.

To those of you who dont have any information on engine 16971 it actually started its conversion from a roller 18 years ago before the gold diggers got hold of doing this, it was bought part built where it was finished by the current owner and was steamed for 2 years in which a firebox was then needed. it then had a few years resting period untill 3 years ago where we started sorting things out, we decided fit the firebox ourselves, so this weekend was its first outing for over 10 years! in which blood sweat and tears all went into it and the chimney was fitted on friday afternoon before we roaded it from creaton. it was such a relief to see it finally back on the road, weve still got plenty to do but were all so happy it made it there in one piece and the owner who also owns the roller in the picture was over the moon.
