So will it be a lot better than all the apparent hue and cry from last year..

Someone was at Flookburgh steam gathering last weekend dishing out trade space leaflets for Pickering, we are tempted to go, but surely a show that big and popular would have sold all the trade space months ago? So not having done Pickering before is it a good show?

Decisions...decisions..

Re Pickering

Well I have been attending Pickering for quite a few years now.
Always enjoyed it plenty to see and do it is so large that you cannot see everything in a day.
Never had any problems from organsers with camping.
reguards Peter.

Give them a call and book on,there will be trade space left. What happened last year didnt effect any trade. The weather forcast is good so should be a bust event.

In a word NO. Save your money and go to Lincoln a couple of weeks later. More engines, better facilities and better show all round.

Mike, how will more engines and better facilities make it a better show for Alex? he is asking from a trade point of view. In your opinion Lincoln is better, you may be right but it doesnt stop 10s of 1000s going to Pickering ,which is what traders need.

Thanks for the comments Guys, unfortunately my all singing Fiat Ducato has decided to develop gearbox problems yesterday, so if I can get it fixed in time all good and well, as it needs to be tip top for hauling our lovely toys and steam models there!

May well see you there.
Alex

Because the question he asked was, "IS it a good show"

But Mike does your opinion that Lincoln is better make Pickering a bad show? Alex could do both as they are weeks apart, some good weather at both shows and he could buy a new van :).

Have they over come the financial problems which led to the unfortunate problems last year when some poor woman was left to explain to engine owners why they would not be paid?

I hope so as apart from the modern funfair and the oversized market it always seemed like a good show

Fair point. I suppose I was looking at it more from an enthusiast point of view, as opposed to a stall holders.
