Default Carrington Rally

I am planning to attend the above this year having never been since the sixties! Does anyone know what security is like here as sadly some shows have a poor reputation in this respect.

I cannot comment on events in Britain. But from experience over here I would simply say at public events NEVER leave your model alone without a guardian within about 10 feet, even just for a moment. Regards David Powell

Thanks David. I can assure you my model is never left alone even for one minute. To clarify, some rallies have been receiving the attention of certain undesirables committing theft and making nuisances of themselves after one too many. I was enquiring if any such problems had been encountered at Carrington.

A few years ago I was running my 2 inch scale Minnie at an event and needed to take a leak, I drove over to a quiet corner of the field where there was a port a potty, parked the engine literally next to the door and nipped in, Did not take more than 30 seconds and came out to see a 400 lbs plus woman I had never seen before sitting on my trailer with her hand on the regulator and her partner taking video, Ever since I have made absolutely sure none of my engines are ever unattended. even very briefly.

Over here ours is such a niche hobby that few thieves would likely know what they were dealing with, let alone the value,None the less my models usually get taken home every night and chained in my trailer to deter casual thieves,

Regards David Powell,

Security is good at Carrington. I have never had any issues there.

Thanks Mike. I was hoping to go this year but circumstances now do not permit but I am hopeful for next year.
