Default DNB brake shaft

I'm looking for a Fowler DNB or DNC brake shaft and top bracket, or even drawings would help me out to make new ones. PM or text/phone 07967 266405, regards Craig

There may be drawings at Reading . If you could borrow a bracket a new one might be cast off it , or a lookalike fabricated . The shaft will be a plain bit of engineering . The brakescrew may be an awkward bit of screwcutting , if it is both coarse and lefthanded .

Hi BOB, it was always my intention to copy the one off Royal Sovereign, both engines were stood next to each other for a few years. But hey hoe, I never got around to it. I presume Reading would probably have the information, but not probably open at the moment due to the Covid. If I had the drawings or even parts on loan for couple of weeks, we could get them made. It was a one off asking if anyone had some originals lying about, but I can only ask. They could be some around. I wouldn't know

Hi Craig , the MERL website lists the drawings for Fowlers by class , so it will be easy to check if they have one . Otherwise there must be a DNB in pieces somewhere for you to copy . The casting is probably only held on by a couple of bolts through the coalbox side .

Craig , you might try Drawing No: 59686 , DN Brake gear , dated 1934 . I have just turned up a print of a MERL list .
