Ethel on here is the real Isaac Ball expert but from memory Togo was bought new by Balls in 1904 as his fleet number 6,(2512 is 4 and 2513 is 5) he must have been impressed by his previous purchases in 1902 of 2512 & 2513 as he ordered another identical engine. As mentioned Ethel will be able to fill in more detail.

Intestingly "The Admiral" as it is known to most people at the club came out of Burrells works with the name "Admiral Togo" It wasnt untill the second world war when Japan lost respect from the British that its name was then changed to "The Admiral" This is how it was when it entered preservation but had its original name returned when reposessed by the club, Even now tho it is nearly always referred to with its abreviated name.
