Default Burrell Museum Opening

Fantastic morning in the sunshine at the Burrell Museum in Thetford, great selection of full size and miniatures. Engines on site this morning were the Museums Rolled, Agricultural and the stunning Queen Mary, Richard Parrott brought 'Century' and 'Princess Royal' and the Saunders collection brought Garrett 'Little Billy'

A brilliant day, made even better by the many friendly people who attended.

Good to meet you Brian and nice to see you again Elijah - but you forgot the little ones! Here's a selection.
This 4 1/2 ins Burrell attracted attention.

I'd be grinning too if this DCC Burrell was mine.

Burrell Special Scenic in miniature.

A fine Foden.

A nice little Aveling tractor.

Rain didn't stop the road run.

Then the sun came out again - on this nice 3 ins Minnie.

A beautiful Burrell lorry. Just look at those wooden wheels.

'Century', an early Burrell, going home. The 'No entry' signs don't mention traction engines.

Thanks to everyone who brought an engine and Chris for organising things. It was a great day.
Bill.

Many, many thanks to all those who brought miniatures! Shame about the weather letting us down in the afternoon. We, like most of the exhibitors made a speedy departure in the second rainstorm of the day, getting soaked once again! The road run could have been planned a bit better, I should have made the effort to bike the route beforehand rather than relying on Google maps, next time will be more organised!

Remember the closing "Do" in late October I will post details closer to the time.

Take care,

Chris Hazel.

The photograph of 'Century' really shows the offset front near side wheel to clear the belt.
