Default Burrell Museum End of Season 'do'

Lovely day today at Thetford, some engines new to me, met some new friends, and the sun shone! Apparently over 900 people visited the museum today. Here are a few photographs from today......

May I add a word of thanks to all the crews who were putting fires in at 06.00 this morning so that we could have an enjoyable day with steam.

Colin, looks like a really good 'do'. I assume this is the roller which belongs to the museum...? I'm posting my photo for a second time but this is the same machine displayed at Weeting - unfortunately I can't remember the year.

I believe it was discarded in a Tarmac quarry in Somerset(?) and Tarmac apprentices were set on to restore it but the amount of boiler work required was too much for them so Tarmac gifted it to the museum. Apparently that was something like 20 years ago?

Her first post restoration appearance was Weeting 1997. No canopy at that time.

To add to Pedlers mate's pictures; there were four full sized engines and four miniatures.
Bill.

A 4 1/2 ins scale Burrell agricultural to the Plastow drawings.

Not a Burrell. It's steamfly3535's 3 ins scale 'Minnie'.

Richspoo's 4 ins SRL. (Hope he gets the dynamo sorted out.)

Another 4 ins SRL. Sorry I don't know any details.

Little and large.

Lunch time at cafe Queen Mary

Princess Royal, 1909 8 nhp Burrell agricultural

An excellent day out! Many thanks Bill for the Pic's. There is a slight chance there will be a road run next year, if I have my arm twisted enough to organise it! So put Easter Sunday in your diary and come along with an engine!

Cheers Chris H

Didn't see the miniature agriculturals, sorry. Thanks for posting the photographs. Anyone who takes the time to build, fire and transport an engine should be credited.
