I must admit I was starting to wish I hadn't put the lagging on, it attracted so many enquiries as to why the engine was made of wood how didn't it catch on fire why, haven't I varnished it etc.

Im not sure to be honest, I was going to but I prefer driving it without as long as it stays dry ! I will need to raise it higher if it does go back as I can't stand up underneath it, as it had the short chimney off the L&B loco fitted then and Charlie Hanford the driver wasn't very tall. I will probably make and fit a new tender brake and fit a scarifier and various other jobs first I expect.

Yes that would be nice, where is yours based, is it in Lincoln? Thats an awwfull long way from down hear unfortunatly, is yours a compound or a single ? Mine was fitted with a morrisons reversible scarifier. I think it was supplied just with the reinforcing plate and Murches then fitted the scarifier themselves probably from an older engine that they already owned. Its a Shame all the other Rustons are so far away I woulnt mind looking at some bitsand pieces on some other rollers.
