Twyford Waterworks Miniature Steam and Model Day

On Sunday 6th July 2008 there will be a gathering of many types of models and modelling at the historic Twyford Waterworks which should prove to be a great day for all the family with lots of things to see.



There will be exhibits ranging from live steam through to displays of modellers at work. Miniature steam engines from 6” scale down to 2” will be on display and running around the five acre site whilst in the various buildings and in marquees will be diverse displays from Lego to model railway layouts. The Tomy Tomica Thomas toy trainset, ever popular with children and adults alike, has been doubled in size for this year and with many trains running will keep children of all ages quiet for long time!



At the same time as much as the Waterworks, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, will be open and running as possible. The 1930’s diesel pumping engines will be in operation along with examples of gas and, uniquely to the site, water powered engines.



Gates open 11am – 4pm with admission for adults £4 and under sixteens free.



Other facilities include free parking and the tea room, serving a selection of light refreshments, teas and ice cream, will be open.



Twyford Waterworks is situated just south of Winchester two miles from Junction 11 M3 and signposted from the centre of Twyford village.
