Thumbs up Tank Idler wheels / used tyres

I'm looking for some Tank Idler tyres to cut up to rubber my living van wheels if someone can point me in the right direction of where to buy some.

Would also consider some used tyres if anyone has some they no longer want from their engine - In total i'm going to need 30 feet by no wider than 6 inches wide.

PM or email t_baines_85@hotmail.com

cheers

Thomas

Why not get a set of rings rolled and then get Reliant Rubber to rubber it?

Think Jimmer's got a contact for these or rubbering at least. Might be worth a try

I take it the Hirst supply of tank idlers has dried up?

Fork truck tyres are availible off the shelf, or at least they were when I was looking for replacements for the trailer about 6 months ago.

Sadly for me they seem not to make the size I wanted for pressing on, however for opening up and bolting/welding on in the time honoured fashion they would be suitable. The finish goes from smooth to the lego tread type, and a range of colours.

I expect they would be a cheaper option than making rings and having the rubber custon made by the likes of Reliant.

I have used both Reliant and B H Leake in Birmingham, both did exellent jobs, Leakes were a little cheaper on the smaller job and being in Birmingham alot easieir for me to get the wheels to them.

I bought some tank tyres from Neil Hurst a year or so ago, very good price, got to be worth a call.
