Hello,

Bit of a long shot but I am looking for a 3/4" Scale Markie Little Gem or Bassett-Lowke traction engine in working condition.

Many thanks,
Mark

Hi,

Does anyone know who specialises in selling model traction engines besides the big three: Station Road Steam, View Models and Antique Steam?

Many thanks,
Mark

Check out Stationroad again. Two ready-to-assemble 3/4" Allchin kits have been posted today. A better option in my opinion.

Hello Dazzla,

Many thanks for that.

Are the Michael Holden kits built to a good standard?

Regards,
Mark

Berrybrook always have quite a few engines but mostly in the larger sizes

And Prestons always have a few

Hello
Does anyone have contact details for Michael Holden? All it says on Station Road's site is his name and Banbury. Is 3/4" scale a 3" engine or a 1/2"?
Thanks ke100

Holden Models are lovely, especially if built to a nice standards, those kits represent good value and you can build them up to your own standards and colours, they used to do a matching living van so they made a beautiful pair.

Sadly I don't think these models have been produced for many years, so the chances of making contact with Michael Holdens is highly unlikely. The engines very small in size and slightly smaller than a 1 inch scale Minnie. (Probably nearer Mamod size than 3 inch Burrell size)

A well built gas fired example with living van fetched around £1800 on Ebay last year.

3/4" scale is 3/4" to the foot this works out at 1/16th the full size and the engine would be about 14" long
