Default Frank Rivers yard......

Does anyone have any photos or info of Frank Rivers yard in Aldermaston Berkshire where engines and waggons were sent for scrap.
Our S4 9207 ended up there in mid 1950.

Thanks.

Chris.

Default Still a bit of a puzzle.

In a Model Engineer magazine report of an early rally it was mentioned that Frank Rivers showed and raced an S4 with a crane on the back
. I long suspected that this was the waggon which went to David Curwen of Curwen and Newbury.
However, does anyone know for sure which waggon it was, perhaps it was yours?

Default I am no longer the custodian.

I collected a fairly good number of Model Engineer magazines for Toronto Society of Model Engineers, however they are now in another fellow.s care and I do not have the easy access any more. However, memory tells me that the reference was in one of the magazines with blue borders to the cover picture which would likely put it in the period 1953 to 1956. There was a rally report, but I rather think it was NOT Appleford, possibly Andover, or elsewhere. Sorry to be so vague, but I defintely remember the report saying that the waggon lost the obstacle race possibly due to the crane on the back. Regards David Powell.

Apparently a lot of vehicles ended up there 4 scrap in the 50s. Someone might see this and have photos to share.
