The engine was supplied new in 1914, within a year a new set of rear wheels were supplied by Marshall's. I would guess that the second photo may be the earlier set, they have the outside of the T-ring removed for reasons unknown, I can't believe that they needed to reduce the width.. The other two photos are probably later and show the standard T-ring. The later set did not survive after the engine was running only as a roller for John Peter Jones. Someone said that they were probably used to reinforce a well capping.

Just warn them that any normal steam rally will be nowhere near as good.

Make sure you come and say hello

Default Beamish Open Air Museum

This is a fantastic place to visit and everyone so friendly. Dressing in period costumes and seeing how life, schools and pastimes have changed - no mobile phones, televisions etc.
Have a great year this year and hope to see you next year with the roller.

We were loaded last night and all set for the Great War Steam Fair, it looks like there is going to be a fantastic line up of steam and internal combustion machines.

If you see us on site, please do come and say hello.
