Cissie at Forncett

We had a special visitor at the Forncett Steam Museum yesterday (7th). Fowler AA7 15237 of 1917, 'Cissie', called in on her first outing under her own steam since a major rebuild. 'Cissie' was part of Alan Bloom's collection at Bressingham - see www.youtube.com/watch?v=b51awNXvNH4 - until recently sold at a Cheffins auction. She is still in south Norfolk, with her new owner being only a few miles from Forncett.

Great to see this engine back in steam. I'm sure the late Alan Bloom would be pleased.

I saw her at Bressingham a few weeks ago, she was in steam but minus drum, tyres, nameplates and a few other bits - fair bit of work gone in since then! A nice old engine been given a new lease of life.

I have a friend who has ploughing engine, been stood up for 15 years but will be back in steam for 2017 its one hundredth birthday.They are huge engines and when you are lucky like me and able to crawl all over they look even bigger. I have been promised a drive when she's ready.

I always find that narrow lanes with high hedges are by far the best way to clean flywheels on ploughing engines.

Just in mind of the other thread , what do you think about one pin / two pins on rubbers? Engines with no diff .
