Default Statfold Update

Hi Guys

Just a quick Christmas update on the first Statfold Barn Railway 'Miniature Traction Engine Rally' to be held over April 23rd/24th at SBR.

Attraction List -
* Over 70 Miniature Traction Engines/Lorries in 1.5" - 6" scales in Steam
* Engines include Garrett's, Foster's, Fowler's, Burrell's, Foden's, Marshall's and many more
* 5" gauge Miniature Ride on Railway (small extra charge)
* Unlimited train rides on the wonderful Statfold Barn steam railway
* Engine Line Up & 'BIG Whistle' 2pm Each Day
* Four or Five locomotives from the immaculate SBR fleet in service
* At least 2 Full Size traction engines, one of which is Wallis Expansion Engine "Pedler" of 1914
* Miniature Working Area with Ploughing/Sawing/Flour Milling Displays as well as a Miniature Steam Plant display

Indoor Displays -
* Two 16mm Live Steam Layouts (Birches Barn and Tyddyn Bach)
* Meccano Models & Model Trucks
* Toy Steam and Model Engineering (Kinver MES)
* "Peters Railway" Books (Childrens Series)
* Fairground Models
I believe there's just over a dozen stands on my list at present

Event opening times 10am - 5pm Sat, 10am - 4pm Sun. During opening hours there will be 'out & back' train rides available on the railway

Invitations are already available to order for this event at www.statfoldbarnrailway.co.uk and all profits go to much deserving local charities.

This brand new event is the first of its kind in the history of the SBR to admit under 14s so please do come and see us over April 23rd/24th, whether you want a varied display of model engineering or a great day out with steam for all the family. All ages welcome (see website for details of how to order invitations)

Merry Christmas to you all and I hope to see some of you at Statfold over April 23rd/24th

An update guys - just a small one

Attractions -
* Over 70 Miniature Engines in Steam 1.5" - 6" Scales
* Three Full Size Road Steamers
* At Least Four SBR Engines in Steam on the Narrow Gauge Railway
* Miniature Working Area - Sawing, Cultivating, Corn Milling etc
* Engine Line-Up and BIG Whistle 2pm Each Day
* Indoor Displays of 16mm Live Steam, Meccano, Toy Steam, Model Engineering and More
* Photo Opportunities with the Narrow Gauge Engines, Traction Engines and Turntable
* Refreshments and Trade Stands

Visitors -
* Invitations to attend are available and are being requested at present. If you would like to come then you can get one at www.statfoldbarnrailway.co.uk . Invitations require a donation of £10 per Adult and £5 per Under 14 with all profits going to deserving local charities. This is, as I say, the FIRST event in the history of the Statfold Barn Railway to allow Under 14s to attend

Exhibitors -
* We are no longer accepting engines for this event as we are oversubscribed (we're expecting 80 engines on the Saturday!). However, to register interest in case a place comes available, I'm always happy to hear from people

Many thanks all and thank you all for your interest and support

Cheers, Sam

Hi all,

As an update, we are hoping to have the following full size road steamers at the event -
* 1927-built Foster Gen Purpose "Fiery Elias" - made famous by Teddy Boston and as Trevor in Thomas the Tank
* 1914-built Wallis Expansion Engine "Pedler"
* 1927-built Wallis Simplicity Steam Roller 3-ton "Emily"

We are also hoping that SBR's Fowler Ploughing Engine (BB) will be in steam and also another engine from the home-based collection of road steamers (TBC)

Joining the Five road steamers will be well over 70 miniatures in 2" - 6" scales, various stands and displays and of course Five of the SBR's Narrow Gauge Steam Locomotives!

All attractions are subject to availability

A perfect family day out! Tickets available at www.statfoldbarnrailway.co.uk

I have no idea why its so huge - I don't know how to change it! :S See you there guys, tickets selling now at www.statfoldbarnrailway.co.uk . Entry includes unlimited steam train rides and we're also doing short footplate rides with the newly restored Hudswell Clarke locomotive "Alpha". Couple that with well over 70 miniature traction engines and steam lorries as well as at least 4 full size road steamers and over a dozen stands from various exhibitors and societies it looks like we're heading for a very steamy weekend at Statfold!
