Yes Jim, I remember the postcards "Warrier" and Foden`s "Rambler" and "Wanderer" and could have been "HMS Sultan" and of course "Lord Nelson" Montague`s engine she looked nice then, I remember in the 70s when I had the lorries one of the component firms sent me a calendar one Xmas with Lord Nelson on the front and in the back ground was Father talking to some one and I am just out of sight to the side of him, that was 1962 I was 20, Father borrowed an engine from someone there and did the obstacle course and Montague wouldnt give him his prize he said father had been driving an engine since he was 13 and it wouldn't be fair on others, he apologised to Father after though, I have been looking for the calendar at home here but can`t find it anywhere at the moment.

What a wonderful set of photographs. Looking at their quality, they were taken on a good quality camera and with a fine grain 35 mm. film such as Ilford FP3. Besides the engines, it is interesting to look at the fashions and I also found the general shots of the rally field interesting in as much as Health and Safety was virtually non existent, yet, common sense prevailed and people were aware of engines moving around them and took the appropriate steps not to be run over!

Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos with us.

I numbered all the photos hoping we could identify the engines, some I know many I do not without checking.
