Default Gloucester Victorian Market : November 2014

Gloucester Victorian Christmas Market - November 20th/21st/22nd/23rd

Situated in Gloucester Quays Outlet Centre, this excellent event runs again this year.

We are taking our Fowler Roller 15813 as well as the Scourfield Families Garrett No. 62969.

The street actors will also be in attendance and a number of Old Style Fairground attractions.

Last years daily attendance was about 15k, with the biggest day being Saturday which saw 25k punters and over 300 coaches pass through the event.

Its a great day out for all the family and I know a lot of TT Regulars also show there faces. Come find us, and grab a coffee and maybe look after an engine for 2 mins while I nip off for a pee.

It is also a potential location for a future steam specific event, so your feedback would be welcomed.

My experience of dock side events are from the ones held on Bristol docks during the 80s and 90s which were rip snorters. Brilliant place to hold a rally, it's in a town so draws the punters and puts engines in an environment they were often seen in the days of yore. Don't let me and John Wharton run the bar though!

My plan is to work towards a steam event that combines the best bits of the old Bristol docks events and the Birmingham city centre shows that I recall as a nipper.

Combine a few other appropriate elements that would work in the environment - food, toilets, bars sorted (brewery onsite)

No idea how it'll pan out or if it'll be achievable, but come the spring I will let the proverbial cat out of the bag and see what the support is like.

Certainly added to the market, and kept everyone happy - to lad - it's not just shopping, you'll see some steam...
