I must confess that up until three years ago I attended Pickering regularly but since I make the trek to S Cerney and have a great time down there .
If it's a good weekend weather wise I spend a day at Cromford on the other day .
I know were I stand with both shows but Pickering is complicated , I'm sad to say .

SB's latest lies then I guess.
there was once a great commentator who said a fantastic remark. An SB event would be brilliant if SB didn't get involved.

The statment given by SB is not always the full story.http://m.maltonmercury.co.uk/news/lo...-firm-1-919274

Escalating building cost?
More like bad management.
The man tried to buy most of pickering.
However the amount of people he put through university he should by admired for.

This is getting ridiculous. The best thing that could happen is that Pickering rally (in whichever guise it wants to be) disappeared from the calendar all together. There has been so much negative publicity with the event over the last 20 years that its beyond a joke now. I don't care who is organising it, be it SB or this new chap that seems to have come along, at the end of the day, they are running it for their own back pocket. I would much rather go to the likes of Cromford that weekend, and have a nice laid back weekend and see any funds raised go to deserving charities.

Default Pickering Traction Engine Rally 2015

Does it matter if the event organiser does the event for profit ??
I can think of at least one other event down south that is run by a limited company.
The new organiser seems to be on the ball.
We do not want to loose any more rallies.
Surely we should give the event some support ??
Now it has new oranisation every one was pleased with the event last year.

I think this is a case of "use it or lose it".

It used to be a good rally a few years back.

The last time we attended Pickering was back in 2000 and I have to admit, it was a belting show then. Haven't been back in more recent years due to escalating diesel prices etc Although we did used to enjoy Simon's event at Clumber park that never really seemed to kick off the way it ought to.
