We are trying to build up courage to apply an RLS transfer after disastrous results with two earlier ( non RLS ) transfers.

Yes ... one disaster and one still on the engine but have never been 100% happy with ......

Varnish the fixing side let it go tacky apply it (before hand set out where you want to fix it to.) , remove backing and apply a couple of coats of varnish in a nut shell .... Good luck.
