Steam toys in action, apparently the largest gathering of steam toys in Europe. Always a good afternoon out and if you don't like toys then there's always the beam engines and a 2' Bagnall running around the site as well as a couple of full size road steam vehicles. Oh and the museum on sewage...

I will take some pics of the event all being well. It will be interesting to see if all 3 are running, I think a boiler needs to be hired to do that as the one fitted doesn't quite cope with 3 compound beam engines, thanks to the council ripping out 7 of the 8 Lancs (not used btw).
Hope to see some of you there.

The beam engines don't usually run at STIA as it gets rather crowded both with exhibitors and visitors. the gas boiler in the museum can run the 3 engines but only for around 30 mins. We are hoping to have all 4 running in the very near future - then we will need to borrow a boiler!

the roller and living van will be in their usual spot outside the work shop. if it as cold as they promise we will all either be huddled around the stove in the living van or getting high from the meths fumes in the big shed!!

It is a cracking afternoon out if you are in the area though.

Danny

The 1938 Bedford chip van will be in action, cooking chips on an original coal fired frying range.
